Artists Of The Limberlost Aug 16-18, 2024

The 2024 Artists of the Limberlost Studio Tour is on August 16, 17 and 18 from 10am to 5pm. This is our 17th year to open our studios and invite local artists to be our guests. This weekend event brings together a diverse and talented group of 21 artists who display their newest creations.

Explore the 7 studios and historic lodges, ask the artists about their creative process and take the opportunity to purchase a piece of Muskoka art that you will value because you met the creator.

I have many beautiful bowls and platters ready for the Studio Tour and it’s always fun for Karen and I to transform the workshop into a studio in August and display my year’s work. My newest piece, just off the lathe, is a Cottonwood Burl which has extremely interesting contours and texture. I don’t get a lot of Cottonwood and I was able to turn two pieces from a large burl.

This year, I am pleased that Carol-Ann Michaelson is returning with her nuanced and textured oil and wax paintings. You will want to examine her art closely to fully appreciate the fine details of her work

Pam Carnochan will be back with her handmade wool art. From farm to frame, Pam creates vibrant northern landscapes from the wool of her own resident sheep. Pam loves to demonstrate her unique fibre art during the studio tour.

We are very fortunate that singer, Don Ablett will perform during the studio tour. A celebrated and award-winning songwriter and guitarist, Don will share his music and entertain us in the studio.

The natural world of Muskoka inspires the Artists of the Limberlost. Enjoy the drive beside lakes, through forests, and winding roads. The variety of art in the tour includes many styles of painting, paper and wool art, as well as driftwood, iron and stone sculpture. In studios and historic lodges you will see pottery, jewellery, forged knives, rustic and fine furniture and my hand-turned bowls, platters and furniture.
Plan to come to our studio tour from August 16 to 18 with friends and family and meet our artists.
