The Gift of Natural Burl Art

Thank you to all who visited my studio this year. Many of you came when my workshop was set up and ready for the Artists of the Limberlost Studio Tour or the Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour, while others called for an appointment and dropped by when I was working, and you saw me in production.

Karen and I are always happy to set up some bowls or platters for you or let you browse in our cupboards for the perfect piece. Natural wood art is always welcome for Christmas, weddings, birthdays, retirement or housewarming gifts. Live edge charcuterie boards and my unique burl tables are one of a kind additions to your home

Contact me at info@limberlostwoodturning.com or call me at (705) 635-3190 to set up a time to visit my studio. I would love to show you my work, tell you about the wood and how I created the piece.

Some of the colourful maple leaves around my studio on a raw maple burl.

This stunning Redwood Burl Platter was the signature piece in my studio as it was featured in the brochure for the Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour.

The new owner of the Redwood Burl Platter sent me a photo of it in its new home with these words “Here is your beautiful Redwood piece resting comfortably in our Sudbury home. It’s unveiling was greeted with universal oohs and aahs. A beautiful addition for us!”

We had many visitors during the studio tours and I demonstrated how I turn the burls on the lathe.

I have many tables, bowls, platters and charcuterie boards which are functional, natural art.

The autumn colours at Thanksgiving this year were fabulous. The drive into my workshop is always beautiful but in the fall, it is breathtaking.
