On August 18 & 19, 2018 the Artists of the Limberlost feature 20 artists in 7 locations. In the studios you will find nature-inspired pottery, photography, jewellery, glass, fiber art, sculpture, paintings in many styles and media, and functional art crafted from local wood. Meet the makers and experience our studios and workshops.
I am pleased to welcome jeweller Carol-Ann Michaelson as one of my guests for the 2018 Artists of the Limberlost Studio Tour. She is looking forward to seeing new and returning visitors who enjoy the opportunity to see her newest work and learn more about her art.
Carol-Ann is essentially a maker of objects. Throughout her career, she has explored many media and methods to express her ideas of beauty. Her work has been exhibited internationally and she is in many books and collections. In her current explorations, using a variety of precious metals, polymers and alcohol inks, she creates work that evokes a timeless beauty and a nod to the many cultures she has travelled to and read about, both real and imagined.
Each piece of jewellery is made by hand and is unique. Once you own it, the design is yours. No one else will have a piece like it. Each piece is well made and thoughtfully designed to enhance the wearer. “I love it when my clients come back for a new piece and tell me that one or more of their friends want to know where they found the piece and how can they acquire one for themselves. My work is then complete.”
