Art in Isolation

Stay Home, Find Art, Stay Healthy

We are all living in the changing world of Covid-19, in isolation and at a distance from others.  We stay home, wash our hands and artists continue to make their art.  I have been working at the lathe this spring and find pleasure in uncovering the beauty within bark-covered burls. Each day my wife Karen and I appreciate all that we have in our isolated world on Rebecca Lake.  We go for walks along beautiful Fieldale Road, listen to the birds and watch for signs of spring.

Our Artists of the Limberlost Studio Tour is scheduled for August 15 and 16 and time will tell whether it is safe to open our studios to interested visitors. The creative spirit will survive this pandemic and we will appreciate natural art even more.

We had a mid-April wind storm this week and encountered a few fallen trees on Fieldale Road. There are two things needed after a storm, a generator and a chainsaw. After cutting up the trees, we dragged them off the road and within 24 hours our power was restored.
